YS – Tape Delay LoFi

Posted in Plugins

🎶 YS dropped Tape Delay Lofi, a free tape delay plugin for Windows and macOS digital audio workstations!

🎛️ Five main controls: input/output knobs for drive and saturation, a mix knob for that perfect blend, feedback for controlled chaos, and delay time/width for precision. Time range: 100ms to 1000ms, no host sync, but easy tempo matching.

Inspired by classics like Space Echo, Tape Delay Lofi features up to five tape heads. 🔄

YS also presents their take on the Curve Bender EQ by Chandler. 🎚️ A fantastic emulation with four bands, toggle between left/right and mid/side equalization. No audible saturation, but perfect for broad boost and cuts.

🖥️ Requires a Windows or Mac computer. Mac binaries work fine, but I can’t confirm bridging in Bitwig.

goodhertz loudness VST

Posted in Plugins

🔊 Goodhertz just released Loudness – a free loudness meter VST plugin for Windows and macOS! 🎉

🎛️ Unlike basic gain tools, Loudness by Goodhertz is a loudness metering powerhouse with a built-in fader. 🌟 Be cautious with peaking on buses, but once mastered, it’s an invaluable tool for examining every loudness nuance.

🎚️ Set your target loudness on the left interface, displayed in LUFS, RMS, Peak, or True Peak. Apply it to every mix track! A sleek waveform in the center, flanked by loudness metering.

🎧 The trim meter on the right lets you adjust gain, and you can listen in on the delta for loudness changes. This functionality extends to the stereo field, ensuring a balanced mix. Farewell to multiple tools, loudness consolidates it all into one user-friendly interface.

🚀 Part of Goodhertz’s free series, it seamlessly runs on Windows, Mac, and Apple Silicon.

How to make AI Covers

Posted in Articles

Hey there, it’s been a while since I’ve written any useful articles on my site, it’s time to rectify that. Let’s talk about AI Covers.

Examples of work:

Some glitches are possible, because I don’t have access to the original vocal track, in some tracks there are adlibs that neural network perceives as lead vocals and sometimes there is a mess.

The main question now is, what is needed to make it that way?

Well, first you need a fairly powerful computer, preferably with a video card nvidia 20 or 40 series (with CUDA about 6GB would be OK), you can of course use the processing power of the processor, but it is many times faster. For mac users, both intel and silicon options are available!

To work we need the Replay program

Do I need any plug-ins?

Basically, everything is ready, replay can extract vocals, remove reverb and delays from it, and glue the beat to the vocal, but for more flexibility you can use another great program Ultimate Vocal Remover, or use online services without loading your system.

Do you want to process everything in your DAW? I use Autotune (Waves or Antares), Reverb (Neoverb or Crystalline [best reverb plugin]), any Waves or Nectar de-esser from Izotope, optional – ozone on master in auto processing mode for each track (don’t forget to put vocals on mixer track).

Operating principle

I strongly advise you to move the program from the system disk to the most free before you start.

We take any track that in your opinion can fit to this or that voice, cut the vocal and minus, throw the vocal in Replay, select and download the desired model (on the tab Verified quality models), if we make a male vocal female, add pitch within 10, otherwise pitch down. Default settings are quite adequate, there is a detailed guide on the introduction when opening the software.
Or take vocals from any pack/kit and just run them through the algorithm.

Export, save, go to FL, for example.
2 tracks, throw minus on the first, vocal on the second.
My chain looks like this (depending on the material, one or another plugin fits better). We find out bpm and tonality of your minus and vocal, set everything in autotune, bpm is better to set under the track, because some reverbs sound differently based on the tempo in DAW.

On the master only ozone with auto-tuning, you can skip this step. Straight to the question of how to customize the ozone, just press the circled button while playing drop (Loudes part of track) for better results.

Tips

Cut off extra parts of a cappella with quietness (noise) and use bleeding mod with smoothnes.

If it sounds quiet, crank up the boost with clip.

REMEMBER! Always use quality materials, namely a quality model that was trained on session recordings, otherwise the final work will come out worse than it could be, use vocals without processing!

If you have any difficulties while using replay, ask for help on their server in Discord – https://discord.gg/A5rgNwDRd4

That’s all, use this technique for AI Covers.

In this article, you will learn how to make money as a music producer even if you don’t have any followers. You’ll also discover several strategies and tools that can help you earn money from your work.

The first step is to find clients. You can start by searching on various online platforms such as Upwork, Fiverr, Freelancer, SoundBetter, and others. These platforms connect music producers with clients from around the world who are looking for music production services.

Once you’ve found a client, make sure you understand their requirements and that you have all the necessary tools and software to create high-quality music. Offer your services at a beginner producer level to attract clients with limited budgets who are looking for affordable services.

Another option you can try is creating your own content. You can write and record your own music, use free beats and samples available online, and sell your content on music platforms such as Beatstars, Airbit, and Traktrain. These platforms allow producers to sell their instrumentals, beats, and tracks as licenses for use by other musicians and artists.

Selling loops and drum kits can be a great way to monetize your music production skills. Remember that selling loops and drum kits requires consistent effort and promotion, but it can be a rewarding way to earn income from your music production skills.

A third option to consider is selling your services as a sound designer. Sound designers create unique sound effects and samples for use in music, film, television, and video games. You can sell your services on platforms like Upwork and Fiverr or create your own website to attract clients.

To attract more clients and increase your income, it’s important to promote your services and create your personal brand. Create your website or blog, build your social media presence, and showcase your portfolio of work to potential clients. By following these strategies and leveraging the right tools, you can start making money as a music producer even if you don’t have any followers.

extra tips

1) Network with other music producers: By building relationships with other producers, you can share knowledge, collaborate on projects, and potentially receive referrals for work.

2) Offer a variety of services: In addition to producing music, consider offering mixing and mastering services, which are in high demand in the music industry.

3) Attend music events: Attending music conferences, festivals, and other events can provide you with the opportunity to meet potential clients and learn about the latest trends in the industry.

4) Use social media to your advantage: Social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook can help you promote your work and reach a wider audience. Make sure to post regularly and engage with your followers to build a loyal fanbase.

5) Continuously improve your skills: As with any industry, the music industry is constantly evolving. It’s essential to keep up with the latest trends, software, and techniques to stay competitive in the market.

By implementing these tips and remaining committed to your craft, you can increase your chances of making money as a music producer.

Good luck!
