Among the contemporary and experimental approaches to sound design, granular synthesis operates on the principles of sampling, but breaks these samples into small pieces called grains as the building blocks for a synthesized voice. Exploring the myriad possibilities of granular synthesis using Astra's granular oscillator, this collection of presets ranges from ambient atmospheres to otherworldly leads and textures. The presets in FM Landscapes were designed by Visible Cloaks, Minor Science, Anthony Naples, Eams and Tristan Arp.
