Starting out with BB King, the king of the blues and the root of it all for me and so many others - his deceptively simple approach is filled with deeply sophisticated musicality. The mighty Albert King is a dose of blues power, the king of string bending, and pure intensity and raw soul. Freddie King, the Texas cannonball as he was known: Freddie touched on everything from country blues to funky blues rock and his groove was infectious to me as an aspiring player. Albert Collins, the master of the telecaster: he had an utterly unique style which has always filled me with joy and excitement. Jimi Hendrix took the blues to new worlds and showed us all possibilities that we never even dreamed of. And finally, but certainly not least - Stevie Ray Vaughan!
