Question 1

Are the vocal samples royalty-free and safe to use in releases?

Accepted Answer

Yes — vocal samples on Plugg Supply are royalty-free, meaning you can use them in your music productions and commercial releases without paying ongoing royalties. This covers music distributed on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, SoundCloud, and other streaming platforms. The underlying samples are cleared for music production use. Always check the individual license file included in each pack, as specific terms can vary between releases.

Question 2

How do I chop vocal samples in my DAW?

Accepted Answer

Import the vocal WAV file into your DAW and open it in the audio editor or sampler. In FL Studio, use the Fruity Slicer or Edison to slice the audio at transient points. In Ableton Live, use Warp Markers or the Simpler/Sampler instrument. In Logic Pro, use Quick Sampler or Flex Time editing. Once sliced, individual syllables, words, or phrases can be rearranged, pitched, time-stretched, and triggered via MIDI to create vocal chop patterns.

Question 3

How do I find the key of a vocal sample to match it to my track?

Accepted Answer

Many vocal packs on Plugg Supply include key information in the filename (e.g., "vocal_hook_Am_120bpm.wav"). If not labeled, use a key-detection tool: Mixed In Key, Melodyne, or the built-in key detection in Ableton Live 11+ and Logic Pro. Once you know the key, transpose the vocal using your DAW's pitch-shifting tools or tune the instrumental to match. For melodic vocals, Melodyne provides note-level pitch correction to align the vocal precisely to your chord progression.
