Tropics Experimental Pianos [WAV]

This pack takes not only a pensive, cinematic approach to piano music, with beautifully emotional and warm melodies, but goes deeper into the tonal and textural side of the piano's mechanisms. A vast body of theatrical content, featuring the most organic warping, creaking, scraping, room sounds, dissonance and harmonious plucking, the piano is truly turned inside out, played in alternative ways, with its deepest nooks and crannies, explored via explorative condenser microphones. We travel to the far reaches of this beautiful instrument's architecture. Delicate and personal sounds of felt and hammer hit strings as Tropics performs soulful, autumnal and nocturnal melodies between 4, 8 and 16 bars long. Conjuring warm, fleeting moments of dark jazz, r&b influenced licks and at other times nodding toward minimalist tastemakers such as Nils Frahm, Max Richter, Philip Glass and John Hopkins.
