Translating from Zulu to "the pianos," Amapiano is the latest in an array of underground electronic music movements from South Africa to cross over to the mainstream in recent years. The genre's iconic log drum (or synthesized sub bass resembling the acoustic instrument) has traversed the world's dance floors countless times over the past two summers. Without further ado, Rubicon travels to the origins of Amapiano to shine a light on Teno Afrika, one of the genre's preeminent producers.
