Ill.e's style is tough to nail down - at times dreamy and digital, others haunting and stark, his second volume for the Kingsway Music Library plays with atonal sounds and ear-snatching melodics, unique, fresh and at home in Ill.e's sonic world. The rich textures laid out here range in tempos from a slow and broody 83bpm to more driving sounds at upwards of 140-150bpm. Instruments range from flutes and strings to an orchestra of synths and drones, with digital and analog sounds merging until neither is discernible.
