When drum machines like the Roland TR-808, Linn Drum, and Oberheim DMX took over the 80's, pop music enjoyed the once unachievable consistent smack and perfect timing that drum machines provided. What we traded in was the feel of a live drummer that kept grooves interesting and lively.
