Low Control Bass Processor Free from Black Salt Audio
Black Salt Audio is offering its Low Control bass compressor and harmonic enhancer as a free download until November 12, 2026, down from its standard $79 retail price. The plugin isolates problematic sub-frequencies and lets you tighten low-end dynamics while injecting upper harmonics to ensure mixes translate across consumer speakers. Producers can claim a perpetual license directly from Black Salt Audio by providing a name and email address.
Dialing in Controlled Low End
Low Control addresses one of the most common mixing challenges: establishing clear, consistent low-end energy without causing muddiness or clipping. The processor splits audio into two distinct bands using an adjustable crossover frequency filter. You can compress the sub band independently using targeted threshold and ratio controls to tame inconsistent kick drums and erratic synth basslines.
Beyond basic dynamics processing, Low Control features an integrated harmonic saturation engine. This section generates upper-order partials directly from the sub frequencies, giving bass elements presence and definition on playback systems that cannot reproduce sub frequencies, such as smartphones, tablets, and budget earplugs.
