Choose a type to use: overdrive, distortion, amp emulation, bitcrushing, etc Tweak the Settings to find a sound that fits well with your track. Try using some modulation effects before and after the distortion unit, and see how it alters the sound. Try this a couple of times on different tracks to hear how distortion can add some interests and tonal variance in your productions.
