The Mass Choir Movement could be seen through the 1960's-1980's, distinguished by their large size and theatrical performances, becoming prominent during the civil rights era. Groups like the Chicago Mass Choir and the Mississippi Mass Choir emerged, blending traditional gospel with contemporary sounds and often performing at larger venues and recording albums.
