We are proud to introduce this mythical beast; the Chimera! This Tonex capture pack seeks to recreate the sound of the renowned Benson Chimera! Immerse yourself in the Chimera's signature tones, from ethereal cleans to classic amp gain but with Benson's own unique flavor. The Chimera is a beast of its own with no other amp in its class. With its custom circuit and uncommon 6v6 build, Benson truly made a one-of-a-kind amp and we could not be more proud to bring it to you with these captures. In our experience, the cleans of this amp are wonderful and the amp loves to be pushed either with more preamp amp gain or with an overdrive. As Benson says, it really is tough to get a harsh sound no matter where you set the amp. We captured this amp using three different cabinets. The first is an oversized 2x12 cabinet armed with vintage '60s Silver Bells. The second is a Bad Cat 2x12 armed with Bad Cat Custom Celestion speakers. And the final is our own custom Envy cabinet. All of these cabinets brought out different great-sounding characteristics of the Chimera.
