here's a little secret weapon for getting your house/garage drums right. BUT - all those records that have those really chunky hat loops with that nice flow - this gets you there sonically fast. pick good top loops/hats, apply groove, and do the following: how to use: take all your top loops/hats/shuffle elements and run them through this bad boy. be gentle - it's very exciting and can knock your mix into harsh territory. might not be a move to sidechain them a bit either. turn the amount up, and play with the top 4 controls. the thresholds/above ratio are set well right now, but try messing with them if you're not getting it to vibe right. the TIGHTEN one is nice too. attached before and after clips too. enjoy
