This is the continuation of the first part called instant eq, where we focus on getting the track release ready, having established the foundation with eq, we now look at different ways to enhance the track, we focus alot on compression and multiband dynamics, but i strongly encourage you to watch the first part in order to get the most of the mixing class. I show you how i process tracks both individually and thru respective busses, i explain the benefits of doing so, and withought overprocessing anything, barely using any effects aside from a compressor, a deesser, an eq, and the reverb on the vocal i finish off the track. I dont even touch harmonic enhancers, distortion or tape plugins, the aim was like i mentioned to keep it straightforward and still feel well about the mix. Thats not to say there is no benefit in using exiters but the change to me in this particular session was to enhance the groove of the song and to create s space for the vocal to sit in which i think i did achieve. This song was originally mixed by another producer, and i give full credit to him in what he did in this mix, i tryed to stay within that same sound to avoid being to far off from the published song, and my intention is only to demostrate my own teqhniques and how they can achieve the desired results.
