Steinberg Classics VST3 v1.0.0 [WiN]
The '90s are back: The very first VST plug-ins, re-released in one collection.
Make music with the VST plug-ins that started it all. When Steinberg invented VST in 1996, no one could have imagined that decades later an entire industry would be built around it. Rediscover the roots of music production with some of the first ever VSTs - Neon, CS-40, Karlette, VB1, and LM7 - in the free Steinberg Classics Collection.
Neon – Synthesizer
One of the first polyphonic software synthesizers on the market, delivered in 1999 with Cubase 3.7. A subtractive but highly addictive pioneer instrument for in-the-box computer music production. It is probably also the first synthesizer plug-in with mock wood interface panels!
VB-1 – Bassist
Finally, a bass guitar that is old school in the best possible sense. VB-1 was one of the first virtual bass instruments. It comes with authentic electric bass tones and quick controls for pickup and pick position.
CS-40 – Synthesizer
Released in the early 2000s, this classic VST delivers warm and expressive synth sounds with a truly vintage character. From smooth pads to cutting leads, its classic architecture makes sound design as musical as the hardware which inspired it.
LM7 – Drum Sample Unit
A sample-based drum (time) machine, LM7 is simple, punchy, and still instantly usable in all modern productions with a vintage vibe. Get back to the basics.
Karlette – Tape Delay
Tape echoes from the past: Each of the four replay "tape heads" has separate pan and high-frequency roll off controls, to recreate the organic movements of vintage echo units. You can even sync it to the host's tempo, so the echoes will be precisely locked to the beat.
