For most of my recordings, I go straight through Amplitube, but for this one, I wanted real, room-shaking feedback. So I lined out my Amplitube settings into my Marshall JVM - kind of a hybrid tone here. The amp was basically on cremate mode... pretty sure the whole block felt it. Sorry neighbours.
About the crickets: there's this moment in the original where you hear feedback while Jimi's holding a note and tuning with his right hand. It always sounded like crickets to me, so I leaned into that vibe and added actual crickets instead. That's me pretending to do the same move.
It's weird times for the USA and Canada lately, but I've always loved Jimi's playing on this one, and really wanted to challenge myself with the crazy feedback. Thanks for playing along - hope you dig it!
